iPhone

I'm getting used to my iPhone now, and there are some great applications out there for the itouch and iPhone.

Check out Stanza an application which lets you read books on the itouch or iPhone. I used to read books on my old Palm but this is much more advanced allowing you to download out of print or copyright books from the Gutenberg press online. Check it out!

We've almost finished out Friendship pathway now, only one more assignment to complete. Some of your latest works are excellent, so keep it up!

I hope you all had a great March Break. Things are pretty busy already, grade 7's have a History test on Thrsday April 2nd. Here are some notes to help study. In math we've been doing a breakdown for solving equations. And a Juijuib to the first students to ask for one!

Our school term ended with a QDPA day, there are some great pictures in the school website to enjoy.

Whew

Well, what a week, sorry I haven't been online much but the whole family has been sick and I've been off a few times this week. THings are wrapping up towards the end of term and of course there are plenty of tests as we teachers scramble to get useful marks for reports. Luckily i've a plethora of marks for reading and writing due to the open response questions and paragraphs we've done these last few weeks. I'm glad to say that the majority of students have improved but I'll put pointers in our reports.

At the moment I'm signing up to edublogs.org so we can do some blogging next term.

Oobleck

Grade 8 science have been introduced to oobleck, grade 7 will get that lesson tomorrow. We begin our work on fluids which means we must be due for our Water Systems test on the next double lesson. Check out this video for more amazing Oobleck.

A new G6 teacher

We should be welcoming our new grade 6 teacher math to school today I'll tell you more tomorrow.

I hope everyone had a great family day. I spent it hanging out with the kids and walking in the woods. I hope you had as relaxing time as my son. I"m collating marks for reports now so get your work in asap.

Carnival on the mush

Well, it's been raining all day today and tomorrow is Carnival outside. I'm hoping all Mrs. High's hard work doesn't get washed away. Well done to everyone with the Dioramas.

30s Vodcasts

This week we began the 30s book report to promote the library. These are posted up on the Library website and I hope the staff will let the kids check them out for book ideas. Our students are now videoing and producing these themselves.

A busy week, I've ordered tomato seeds from outer space for February and we're beginning Diorama on Monday. Science work should be completed this weekend and there are links to rubrics etc from my Homework calendar.

For History you can download .pdf and .notebook (smart board) files on the war of 1812

In language we're taking time next week to create a smart board presentation for our next book report. The kids have all downloaded the rubric. Here is a link to Smart technologies downloads were you can get the latest copy of Smart board for 30 days. At the moment version 9 (what we have!) doesn't need a product key.
